4 months

Mr. Given turned four months this Christmas...and he is already reading!  What an advanced little boy!
We went to the doctor yesterday for his routine 4 month check up, and we have one healthy string bean! He weights 14 lbs and 10 ounces and is 26 inches long!

Santa!

Given met Santa this weekend!  Santa confirmed that Given was on his nice list!

This weekend I finally got around to doing a Christmas themed photo shoot to mark Given's first Christmas!

Captured in the vines

A few more favorites from our Thanksgiving weekend!  These were captured at Pine Ridge Vineyards.  (Of course we went wine tasting over the holiday weekend!)

Swinging in SF

While the Lewises were visiting us in SF, we did a little photo shoot at the playground.  Here are my favorites!  This makes me so excited for when Given is able to go swinging!

J-O-B

Today was my first day back to work and Given's first day of daycare.  It has been tough being seperated all day.  I got this picture from the babysitter.  It makes me feel better that he's laughing and smiling.

Things that got me through the day - Starbucks new Skinny Peppermint Mocha and this little gift to myself:
pink Kate Spade flats!

Only week and my thanks

I wake up this morning filled with dread.  My last Monday of maternity leave.  I'm so going to miss Given and being home with him.  This has been, without a doubt, the best three months of my life. I try to not let the thought of returning to work consume me.  I still have one more week!  Plus, this week will be full of family and fun, and when I do return to work, I only have two and half weeks until my Christmas vacation!  (I tried to get the additional two and half weeks off, but was denied...I'm trying not to be bitter!)

This year for Thanksgiving I am so very thankful that I have had these three precious months off with my son, that Omar's work is flexible and allows him plenty of Given time, and that Summer, Jake, and Baby Gray are flying in as I write this to spend the whole week with us.

Speaking of flying:

Happy Turkey Day to all my followers!

I am making a ginger coconut pumpkin pie for our Thanksgiving meal this year - I will let you know how that turns out!

Grandparents, Aunts, and Cousins!

Aren't these boys handsome!
Wesley (5), Gray (5 months), Given (2 months), and Carson (8)
(I think I have these ages right!  Sometimes I can't believe Carson and Wesley are so old.  I can't wait to be back in Texas to see my nephews more often.  I miss them very much.)
Last week Given and I made the trip to San Angelo!  Given got to meet his aunts Kelly and Summer and cousins for the first time.  (Although we have Skyped often enough it didn't feel like the first time!)  We also got to see Grandma and Grandpa again!  While I was there I took a lot of pictures, but I think these will be surfacing as Christmas pictures so I'm going to keep them surprise for a bit!
Gray and Given played very nicely together!  Gray is such a good sharer!

And in case you are wondering, Given did great on the plane!  He slept practically the whole to San Angelo; however, on the way home he was just too excited about seeing his Daddy to sleep.  That was challenging keeping him entertained, but I must say he wasn't screaming and disrupting other passengers.  He is an angel!

Next up, Aunt Summer, Uncle Jake, and Gray are coming for Thanksgiving!  We can't wait to see them.

I also have to say that I'm so ready to start decorating for Christmas!!  If I had an artificial Christmas tree, it would be up already!  I admit that I'm even considering buying one so I can get this party started!

While we were in San Angelo, Given turned 10 weeks.  (Yes, he is wearing the same outfit in his 8 weeks picture...time to do some shopping!)

Little Monsters

Now where did I leave off last...Halloween!

Check out my cute little monsters!

We didn't do much for Halloween since it would be Momma eating all that candy!  When Daddy got home we hit up a few stores along Union Street and then had dinner at Delarosa.  Given slept through most of it and Gypsy's costume lasted maybe 10 minutes.  I told myself I would never dress Gypsy up again, but when his costume coordinated with Given's, I just had to!!  He hated it.

Baptized!

We had such a great weekend!  Not only did we visit a pumpkin patch on Saturday, Given was baptized on Sunday at St. Vincent de Paul's by Father Strange.
Please excuse our sweaty state - as I mentioned in my previous post in was hot this weekend!!  Oh, doesn't Given's giraffe pacifier go perfectly with his beautiful baptismal gown?  The baptism was held during his usual naptime so the pacifier was needed!

This is the best picture I have of Given in his baptismal gown!  He was beautiful.  (If you missed in a previous post, this is the same gown me and my mom wore!)

Aunt Brooke and Uncle Randy were Given's proxy Godparents since Summer and Jake were unable to make it.  We missed them very much!
The only dress I'll ever get to put Given in!  Ha!

This was taken before the baptism!  I told you it was hot!

The Great Pumpkin

We finally did it!  We got to a pumpkin patch for Given's first Halloween photo session!  We went to Bob's Pumpkin Patch in Half Moon Bay.  It was the perfect place to go with an infant - it didn't have a petting zoo or inflatable jumping houses therefore not a million kids running around!  It was fun getting out there with Given.  I can't wait till next year when he can sit amongst the pumpkins himself.  It was so hot this weekend - and notice the outfit he is wearing.  Thankfully I had a short sleeved onesie in my purse for after our little photo session!  I love how the pictures turned out!

Notice the blue in the background?  That would be the ocean.  How cool is that?!

And since we were in Half Moon Bay, we had to have lunch at Sam's Chowder House!

On time - 8 weeks (almost 2 months)

Given had a big day yesterday!  Not only did he turn 8 weeks, but he experienced his first earthquakes (two big ones), he visited Momma's place of work and got to meet all her co-workers, and he slept through the night (7:30 pm to 5:30 am).

Yesterday he also wore a big boy outfit!  I loved it.  It made him look so old!!
I took about a million pictures of him yesterday.  It was really hard to narrow it down to two!

Nana and Jeddi Visit

This last week Nana and Jeddi were here in San Francisco visiting!  It was a great weekend filled with Fleet Week, a visit to the California Academy of Sciences, a date night for me and Omar, and lots of catching up and ohhh and ahhing over Given (of course)!  Here our a few pictures from our week.

We also had a visit from Justin!
Thanks for the awesome monkey towel, Justin and Ryan!

Remember last year's Fleet Week?!  click here

6 weeks old

Given is almost already 8 weeks, so this is a little late...
It's amazing to hear people on the street say that he is so little!  To me, time is flying by and he is growing every day!  I have to remind myself that he is still a newborn, not a 2 year old!!

Smiles, Baptism and Wine

Saturday was awesome, and Given was such a good boy.  The weekend started with Given's first smiles!  I tried to capture the moment.  This is the best I got.  My heart melts.

Next up, Given's baptismal prep class.  Given slept through the whole thing and was a perfect angel.  The actual baptism will take place October 23rd.  Given is wearing the same gown that me and my mom wore!  Pictures will be posted!

After class we packed up and headed to Napa.  First up, wine tasting at Brooke's new winery, Ram's Gate.  Not only is Ram's Gate kid friendly, but they are dog friendly too!  Oh, and did I mention that it is only 30 minutes from SF?!  Given and I might be meeting Brooke for lunch often during my maternity leave.
(Given took a nap the whole time in his sling.)

After Ram's Gate we picked up Randy and went to P&H's fall release party.  This time Given took a nap in Daddy's baby backpack (the Bjorn).  Unfortunately I did not capture this....boo!

After all that tasting we headed back to Aunt B & Uncle R's...of course Omar had to watch the Longhorn football game.  Dare we miss one game!  While the boys watched the game, Brooke and I took off on their bikes and had a little time to ourselves at 1313 Main.  It was nice to get away for a bit!

Randy got a tricycle for his birthday! Omar had to test it out before we took off!

Remember the last time I was on a bike?  Check it out!  I'm so glad I'm not pregnant anymore!

It would be whole lot cooler if that was a Missoni bike too!

Given and Randy watching from the porch.

And Gypsy being a good dog and watching from the front steps.

Brooke and I riding off into the sunset!

This coming weekend Grandpa and Nana Zennadi will be in town!  We can't wait.
